Luca Plitz

BIOGRAPHY

Luca is a New York based scenic artist and designer. He was born and raised in Arizona, but has since moved to New York to follow his passion for design and fabrication. Seeing the transformation of a project from a few sketches into an actual installation is his favorite part of being an artist.

During his time at Purchase, he has had the incredible opportunity to both design and scenic charge. In his senior year he designed The Tempest, directed by Elmore James, which included a functional turntable shell painted with multicolor iridescent hues . He also designed Orlando, directed by Rachel Dickstein, which had forest green and copper tabbing kabuki-style curtains and scenery that could come apart mid-show. In his junior year, he had the pleasure of paint charging Titus Andronicus, which featured massive scale fresco walls.
