Issa-Malik A. Bernard
Issa-Malik Bernard is an actor from Harlem, New York, and member of the SUNY Purchase BFA Acting class of ’25
His time at Purchase, in his words, has been truly informative and eye opening. Issa-Malik has tackled various roles here, such as Alcibiades in Socrates dir. Dean Irby (2024), Pastor Jay in Luna Gale dir. Katherine Wilkinson (2024), and Antonio in The Tempest dir. Elmore James (2025). While taking classes and performing he has also participated in short films and other student led performances such as the Black Theater Festival.
Long before attending Purchase, he started his pursuit in the arts at Frank Sinatra School of the Arts as a DRAMA Major and SCAN Harbor Performing Arts Academy. With a long history of performing, he is vocally trained and has a passion for visual arts and dance.
