Leo Zausen

Lecturer in Media Studies

Leo Zausen is a NY-based writer and editor. At Purchase College, he teaches Media Studies with emphasis on visual culture, media archaeology and cyberfeminism. He previously taught and researched Media and Film Studies at The New School (2018-2022) and as a teaching fellow at Eugene Lang College (2020). His interdisciplinary research and writing has been presented, published and screened internationally at the Colloquium of Arts and Media at The University of Montréal, Am Strand Magazin, The Film Stage, TBA: Journal of Art, Media and Visual Culture and as an artist resident with Foreign Objekt. His collaborative video work has screened internationally at The Venice Architectural Biennale (2021) and locally in New York City. With exmilitary, he published Mark Fisher’s “Flatline Constructs: Gothic Materialism and Cybernetic Theory-Fiction” (2018) and curated an Eastern European post-apocalypse film series with renewed interest in Andrzej Zuławskis “On The Silver Globe.” (1988)
