Patrizia Farina

Lecturer of Italian

Patrizia Farina teaches Italian at Purchase College and Western CT State University. She has been teaching in the Foreign Languages Department since the Fall of 2002. Before teaching at Purchase she has had extensive experience in teaching both Latin and Italian languages in many colleges including Cornell University, Colgate University, Syracuse University, and University of Connecticut in Storrs.

More About Me

At Purchase College, she is currently teaching two sections of Beginning Italian for Voice and Music students, two section of Beginning Italian for General students and two sections of Intermediate Italian.

Her degrees include a “Laurea in Roman History” from Università degli Studi di Pisa (Italy) and four years of education towards a P.H.D. in Roman Archaeology (A.B.D.) from University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.

She is coordinator and solo-faculty of the “Study Abroad in Florence” (Wintersession) conducted in Italy by Western CT State University, in collaboration with F.U.A. (Florence University of the Arts).

She is also the consultant for a Youtube channel called “Professor Dave Explains”. She has created all the scripts for her son’s tutorials about Italian Language.

Her main hobbies are hiking and mountain climbing.
