Marco North ’90
Marco North ’90 is a storyteller who’s an independent filmmaker, musician, photographer, and author.
His latest work is a novel, Papa on the Moon.
North’s independent film work includes writing and directing Blackbetty and Whale, the former collecting a stack of accolades at many film festivals.
He’s released two albums, Heaven Get Behind Me and Jacob and the Angel, with his band, Martin Ruby.
His photography will appear in the upcoming photobook The Mayor of East 1st Street.
And he’s published posts to his personal blog, Impressions of an Expat, every Monday since May of 2009. He shares powerful story fragments of his experience living in exile after his daughter was kidnapped to Moscow. Select posts have been syndicated in Travel & Leisure, Expatica, and Vox Populi, and it draws readers from over 130 countries.
He formed Bittersweet Content in 2000, a boutique studio that makes music videos, features, live event graphics, social videos, motion design, and animation for major creative agencies and brands like VISA, Nike, SONY, Chanel, and Wella.
North currently lives in Tbilisi, Georgia, after fifteen years in Moscow.
