Carissa Cunningham

Carissa Cunningham specializes in gender in politics and international relations. They are interested in the militarization of transgender individuals throughout the world, with a specific interest in South Korea. Their current research is on transgender militarization in South Korea, qualitative research methods, race, gender, sexuality, and class. Mx. Cunningham is also a community activist in the city of New Brunswick in the areas of tenants’ rights, labor organizing, sexual violence, peace and political education. They have taught classes related to human rights, international law, militarization, international relations, community organizing and political theory.
