Video games have been an escape over the past year and in general, always have been for me. I can be whoever I want, whenever I want. As a nonbinary person, I don’t have to limit myself in video games when it comes to picking a character or creating a character. Each adventure is different and exclusively my own. Its the art, its the ability to have choice. Neutrality at its finest. One day I’d like to work in the video game industry so it made perfect sense for me to focus on this aspect for my project while also giving a perspective on gender and gender identity. This video is different versions of me in different games. One of the characters is actually nonbinary and their voice can be heard at various points within the video. I feel connected to this character and I want their neutrality and words to seem like they come from me. ———- My two images are a play on still life art and they intertwine with my interest in video games. With a combination of found objects, found gifs, digital drawings, and the power of photoshop, I was able to encompass all of my interests and dreams into both of these still lives. They also reference my desire to be an artist in the video game industry.
