Denise Bessette

Lecturer in Acting

Denise Bessette is a professional actress, producer, and teacher with more than 35 years of experience. As one of the founders of Hudson Stage Company, a premier professional nonprofit theatre in Westchester County, she has produced all of its main stage productions and staged readings.

​As an actress, Bessette has performed in the critically acclaimed Hudson Stage production of Pinter’s A Kind of Alaska and in Jackson Heights Trilogy in New York City, and has also appeared in HSC’s God of Carnage, The Pursuit of Happiness, Kimberly Akimbo, and Full Bloom. Her television credits include  in Law and Order, Law and Order SVU, Seinfeld, LA Law, and many other episodics. She has appeared Off Broadway and in leading roles at major regional theatres throughout the country.

Bessette trained in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, with William Esper in New York City, and in the late Milton Katselas’s master class in Los Angeles. She is a graduate of Marymount Manhattan College with a BA in theatre arts.
