What is your motivation to succeed?

Since I came to this country, I’ve been placed under a percentage of Hispanics that will never succeed in life. Graduating from high school was the first step in proving society wrong, graduating from Purchase the second. And I hope to continue proving society wrong.

Tell us something most people don’t know about you.

I was raised in the Dominican Republic up until I was 12 years old.

What are your long term goals?

I hope to go to law school and become an immigration lawyer and hopefully make a difference in the immigration system.

What does EOP/MAP mean to you?

EOP gave me the emotional and academic support I needed to continue my education. They’re the reason I’m here today.

What’s your most invaluable experience at Purchase?

Purchase helped me discover who I am as a person. Without Purchase, I’d still be the same shy girl I was back in freshman year, someone who was afraid of the world.
