Larry Clark

Associate Professor of Dance

Larry Clark received his BFA from Ohio State University and moved to New York City, where he performed as a member of the Viola Farber Dance company from 1971 to 1980. He also studied tap with Honi Coles, Baby Lawrence, and Charles Cook.

A certified massage therapist and Pilates instructor, Clark joined the Conservatory of Dance at Purchase College in 1980 and presently is a tenured member of the modern dance faculty.

He has choreographed for the Purchase Dance Company and has accompanied them on 11 international tours as guest teacher, rehearsal director, and company massage therapist. He has also created works for Chicago’s Mordine Company, Calishi Ballet in Puerto Rico, and Dances at 8 in California, and four works for the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore. He was choreographer for two different dance companies in New York City: Larry Clark and Dancers (artistic director and choreographer) and Triple Threat (co-artistic director/choreographer). He has taught master classes and participated in workshops and festivals around the world.
