New Staff Member Spotlight: Greg Weiner
Get to know our new Head of Circulation
How did you find your way to Purchase?
I had previously worked at an academic library at Mercy University and was looking for a continuation of that career choice after my stint in the IT department. Purchase College Library offered me a path at the right time and I seized the opportunity!
What is your role at Purchase?
I am Head of Circulation at the Purchase College Library.
Is there anything you want staff to know about your department?
My department is hardworking, determined, and complex in its job duties.
How does Purchase compare to your previous place(s) of employment?
Purchase’s theatre, film, and music presence is amazing! My previous place of employment was known more for its nursing program than anything else and the library there reflected that. At the Purchase College Library, we have a robust DVD/Theatre/Music collection that came as a pleasant surprise to me.
Is there anyone you want to shout out who’s been particularly helpful to you as a new employee?
Absolutely, I would have to say my director, Tony White, has been instrumental in onboarding me, acclimating me to my role here, and defining my position within the library.
What are some upcoming events staff may be interested in?
February 4, The Provost office will host the soft launch of the the TAPROOT Art & Tech Lab, this event will be to introduce the lab to the community.
