Admissions Mid-Year Update 2026
A review of Admissions activities for 2025-26 thus far.
We are off to a great start for the 2025–2026 admissions cycle and are excited to welcome our new students for the spring 2026 semester!
Our spring student reception will be held on Thursday, January 8th to give students still making their decision an opportunity to see campus once more. We are excited to welcome 25 students and their families for the reception ahead of the semester start on Wednesday, January 21st (RSVP numbers noted as of 01-02-2026).
Looking ahead to the fall 2026 applicants, we have 9488 applications thus far for the upcoming term. This is a slight increase year over year when compared to our fall 2025 application pool.
Of these applicants:
- 9034 are first year applicants
- 400 are transfer students
- 54 are graduate students
- 66.4% are applying to programs not requiring a talent screening
- 33.6% are applying to programs requiring a talent screening
Upcoming Events and News from Admissions
The Admissions team would like to thank our campus partners in advance for their hard work and support throughout this cycle!
Outside of the applications, we are looking forward to hosting a variety of events throughout the spring to help our students make their final decisions by May 1. Please take a look at some of our save the date items below:
- Ongoing call campaigns completed by staff, students, and faculty to interested students
- Daily tours Monday–Saturday for prospective and admitted students and their families
- Student Scholarship event celebrating our scholarship recipients on March 4th
- Classroom experiences available by program to give students insight into what their time at Purchase will look like academically
- Two Accepted Student events on April 4 and April 15
Admissions has had some staffing changes at the end of last semester/ start of the upcoming term. We wish Jordan Prusinowski and Jeffrey Kim the best of luck in their future endeavors and look forward to the birth of a healthy baby girl for Kellie Mansdorf. Those remaining on the team appreciate the support and patience of the Purchase community as we continue toward our May 1st enrollment deadline.
As a note, we have officially hit the demographic cliff created by declining birth rates in 2008. Enrollment has become a crucial concern to the financial health and wellbeing of the campus community. We encourage everyone to celebrate the work done thus far and continue to keep it up for the remainder of the cycle to come.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions to further attract and enroll our new students, we invite you to connect with the admissions team at admissions@purchase.edu.
Happy New Year from Admissions!
