In the Emmy Spotlight: Parker Posey and Stanley Tucci

And the shows featuring our alumni that rose to the top.

Cheers to our Emmy-Nominated #ProofofPurchase!

Acting BFA alumni Parker Posey and Stanley Tucci ’82 both earned Emmy nominations this season. And a special shout out to the Purchase people on Emmy-nominated shows.

The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced September 14.

Parker Posey

Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series

Parker Posey expertly filled the hole left by the departure of Jennifer Coolidge on Season 3 of HBO’s The White Lotus. Her wit and sophistication, and her remarkable southern drawl, earned her a well-deserved nomination.

“Parker Posey delivered what’s easily the season’s funniest performance. There wasn’t a single scene that her presence didn’t make better. But Posey also gives the character dimension—shallow as Victoria may be, she’s aware of her own privilege and has leapt through enough mental hoops to justify it,” writes Entertainment Weekly, who ranked her character in the season’s number one slot.

Stanley Tucci ’82

Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special

Stanley Tucci is both host and executive producer of Tucci in Italy. The award-winning actor returns to his ancestral home in this five-episode National Geographic series, traveling through Tuscany, Lombardy, Trentino‑Alto Adige, Abruzzo, and Lazio for a deeply personal exploration of Italy’s landscapes, rich history, and complex connections with its food that have shaped each region’s distinct culture and their pasta. Catch it streaming on Disney+ and Hulu.

The show was also nominated for Outstanding Cinematography for a Nonfiction Program.

We’re also proud to spotlight these alumni on shows that received top Emmy recognition.
