New Season of “The White Lotus” Features Two From Purchase
Parker Posey and Sarah Catherine Hook play mother and daughter.
In the highly anticipated season three of HBO’s The White Lotus, two actors who hail from Purchase years apart have starring roles.
Parker Posey
Parker Posey, who attended the Acting BFA program in the early 90s, plays Victoria Ratliff, the entitled and narcisstic matriarch of the family. Her character fills the void created by the departure of Jennifer Coolidge from the first two seasons.
“So it’s great fun to have indie darling Parker Posey around to take up the comedic slack as Victoria, the drug-addled, culturally clueless North Carolina wife of powerbroker-in-crisis Tim Ratliff.”
Up next for Posey—she’s been cast opposite Mark Ruffalo, Sam Rockwell, and John Malkovich in Martin McDonagh’s next film, Wild Horse Nine, currently in pre-production. More about Parker Posey.
Sarah Catherine Hook
Playing Victoria’s daughter Piper in the series is Sarah Catherine Hook ’17 (Voice and Opera Studies). The Montgomery, AL native recalls what it was like to work with veteran Posey.
“In the beginning she and I hung out a lot and she took me under her wing. She was really sweet and cute and very curious about me. She just is a little special, unique butterfly. I’ve never met anyone like her.
She and I both went to SUNY Purchase College. …. So that was fun for us to be able to bond over that.”
Hook also stars in Prime Video’s Cruel Intentions, Netflix’s First Kill, and the upcoming Netlix adaptation of People We Meet on Vacation.
ABC News calls The White Lotus “must-see” and Rotten Tomatoes lists the show at 96% Tomatometer and 90% Popcornmeter. Tune in!
