The Stood
A unique space fully programmed and managed by students, The Stood is a multipurpose social hub—a concert venue, an exhibition space, an arcade, a place to gather, and a spot to chill.
It’s hard to describe The Stood.
We’re pretty sure there’s no place else like it.
Imagine a hang-out space meets arcade meets music venue meets gallery meets screenprint shop meets whatever else you can dream up.
Our student center, aka “The Stood,” is a unique space that’s host to many student-run events. It’s entirely run for students, by students.
Smaller rooms accommodate exhibitions or film screenings. and the main stage allows for large-scale events like Afrodisiac, an annual celebration that embraces and promotes Black and people of color through performances, vendors, food, and merch.
It’s also a key location for Culture Shock—the annual two-day concert and carnival—and many other events, concerts, and dance parties, like Stoodio 54, Emo Night, ‘zine fests, flea markets of student made items, and club fairs.
The clubs and organizations are the lifeblood of social activity on campus, and they plan and present most of what happens in The Stood.
