Andrea Patterson ’05 stars as Helen in Memnon, which runs through September 28 at the Getty Villa’s Outdoor Classical Theater in Los Angeles.
Memnon tells the tale of a powerful Ethiopian king who journeys to the city of Troy to engage in battle during the Trojans’ darkest hour. This epic tale from the Greek mythological canon has been overlooked for over a millennium. Until now.
It’s co-produced by The Classical Theatre of Harlem, an American theater company that tells stories through the lens of the African diaspora.
