New Staff Spotlight: Meet Jane King

Jane King  joined the Purchase Family on February 28, 2022 in the EOP/MAP Office as the new EOP Counselor. In her role Jane will support and guide degree-seeking students who have been historically academically and financially disadvantaged. Jane received her BA in Journalism from Northeastern University and received her Masters of Science in Education from the City College of New York. 

Jane says she is drawn to Purchase because, “I loved the college’s focus on the arts and sciences, and had heard great things about its conservatory programs. I wanted to work at a place where students’ talents were really appreciated and cultivated”.

She says she is most excited about having the opportunity to get to know and build relationships with her students throughout their time here at Purchase and then getting to see them graduate.

Jane is from Brookfield, CT  but lives in Ossining, NY. In her spare time Jane enjoys hanging out with her husband, their two daughters, and their dog, Landry. Her daughter has been trying to teach her how to play Roblox. Jane also ran her first 10k this past October! 

Jane enthusiasm and passion for helping students make her an asset to the campus. Welcome Jane!
