On October 20, 2021, The Jewish Studies Program presented a tour of the Jewish Museum of Greece as an introduction to the complex history of the Jewish community that had thrived there for centuries. Our guide was the Museum’s Director, archaeologist Zanet Battinou, who has been at its helm since 2001.

The Museum’s mission is to collect, preserve, research and present aspects and evidence of the material and intangible culture of the Greek Jews, in the long centuries of their presence in the southeastern corner of Europe.
