Gianna Caranfa ’15 Invites You to “Bee Inked”

Her new tattoo parlor opened recently.

Congratulations to Gianna Caranfa ’15 (sculpture) on living her passion. She recently opened a tattoo parlor, Bee Inked, in her hometown of Yorktown Heights, NY. Her love of puns inspired its name, she says in the Journal News, “’Come ‘bee’ inked by me and it’ll only sting a little.’”

She came to study the visual arts at Purchase with the intention of pursuing a career as a special education art teacher, but ended up in a tattoo apprenticeship.

As a woman in a male-dominated field, she’s rethinking the tattoo parlor from grungy boys club to a welcoming living room.
