A Note from President Peña

Dear Staff,

In this season, when we typically take a moment to express our gratitude, I wanted to thank the professional staff of the college for all you are doing to support our students, faculty, and each other.

Nothing about this year has been typical. You have been asked to be creative, hardworking, and prudent, to do more with less, and to balance the needs of the college community with the needs of your own families, friends, and communities.

I wanted you to know that I recognize your hard work, and that it has made a significant difference.

From those who volunteered to help administer pooled testing, to those who have been helping students navigate the challenging semester, I thank you. I also thank everyone who provided technical, administrative, health, academic, and financial services support to faculty and students. Without all of you, this campus could not have successfully opened and stayed open for the semester.

I know that there are many, many more examples from across campus of large and small ways that our professional staff members have contributed to the health, safety, and productivity of our college. I wanted to let you know that I am grateful for all that you do, especially during this extraordinary time.

I look forward to having more opportunities to get to know you both personally and professionally.
