Jason Rodriguez ’12
Jason Rodriguez stars in the Golden Globe nominated Pose (on FX), based on ballroom culture scene in NYC in the 80’s and early 90’s. He has mastered the art of vogueing, which he has both performed and taught all over the world.
He has been seen assisting ballet Teacher Dorit Koppel both in class and on media for Broadway Dance Center’s BDC Move. He has also been on the Netflix series “The Get Down” directed by Baz Luhrmann as a featured voguer. He has performed with Abraham.In.Motion as a dancer for APAP. Also, was a part of the pre-production progress of the Off-Broadway show Fortress of Solitude with Camille A Brown and Dancers. Most recent, he was a guest artist with the Rosie Herrera Dance Theatre in Miami in collaboration with the New World Symphony.
He is personal/rehearsal assistant for Kevin Wynn who is faculty at Purchase College. As of 2014, he joined the Iconic House of Ninja. He has created 5 different works using voguing as a main style of movement. He has traveled to Japan, Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Vienna and Miami to either perform or teach voguing. His work “Immersion in Vogue” at Summerstage 2016 was printed and reviewed by Gia Kourlas of The NY Times. He can be found in the City teaching/subbing classes at Broadway Dance Center, EXPG, and PMT Dance Studio.
