I entered Purchase College in 2004. At that time, I remember a lot of students resisted the changes you were making to the college. From my standpoint, whether I agreed with the changes or not, I appreciated your progressive thinking, bravery, authenticity and your many efforts to include the students in the rethinking and restructuring of the school. Now, in 2019, after an amazing legacy that cannot be denied, it is clear to everyone what a GREAT VISIONARY and LEADER you have always been. Well done! Thank you for your service!

Karen Beltran, Esq. Class of 2002, Anthropology, with President Schwarz In 2002, President Schwarz was instrumental in assisting me with my law school application. He took the time to get to know me and to help me navigate the process. Coming from an immigrant family and with two young children on campus, I needed the assistance of the Purchase community to help me accomplish my goals. President Schwarz has been supportive throughout my endeavors and has always maintained contact with me even 17 later. That is a true sign of a dedicated leader.
