Students will:

  1. Display a familiarity with essential economic concepts necessary to understand the basic functioning of the US and global economies.
  2. Use economic analysis to understand various social and economic events, as well as to evaluate specific policies and business decisions.
  3. Conceptualize, articulate, and solve complex problems, including problems that do not have a clear-cut answer, using available information, data, economic theory, or statistical methods.
  4. Apply empirical evidence in support of economic arguments. Specifically, this involve sourcing or collecting pertinent data, developing empirical evidence through appropriate statistical techniques, and interpreting the results.
  5. Effectively convey research findings, whether self-conducted or sourced from existing literature, through spoken and written communication.
