All in One Weekend: November 8–9

Develop and complete the first episode of your own podcast in one immersive weekend.

This comprehensive experience will guide you to:

  • Develop and complete the first episode of your own podcast.

  • Explore different podcasting styles and formats.

  • Learn best practices for show development, audience building, and distribution.

  • Understand how to develop and pitch a compelling concept.

  • Record and edit audio using Adobe Audition editing software in the Mac editing labs and on professional audio recording equipment in the Purchase College TV studio.


Whether you’re starting from scratch or refining a concept, this workshop gives you the tools, space, and support to bring your voice to life.

Develop and complete the first episode of your own podcast in this weekend workshop using the Purchase College TV studio! Discuss different styles of podcasting, understand best practices for developing and pitching a show, learn basic audio editing techniques with Adobe Audition, learn to use professional audio recorders, and discover tips about podcast audience building and distribution.

Learn From a Seasoned Industry Professional

Award-winning documentary filmmaker and Chair of the Communications BS program at Purchase College, Megan Rossman provides real-world insight and creative vision to every session.

Megan Rossman’s films have aired on PBS and screened at festivals such as Outfest, DOC NYC, and BFI Flare.

Her new short, Their Voice, follows performer Kristyn Michele as they transition from mezzo-soprano to tenor.

Her feature The Archivettes played at 75+ festivals and won multiple awards. Other shorts include Naomi Replansky at 100 and Love Letter Rescue Squad, which won best student documentary in the Emerging Filmmakers Showcase at the Cannes Film Festival American Pavilion in 2017. Also in 2017, Rossman won a coveted Princess Grace Award.

A former video journalist at The Washington Post, Rossman won an Emmy in 2011 and was part of a Pulitzer Prize-finalist team in 2009.

The Broadcast Studio in the Humanities building provides hands-on experience in a television control room and studio.
