What is your motivation to succeed?
My motivation to succeed is my family. My mom is from Mississippi, and when I visited her hometown, I seen the way that she lived as a child. This gave me motivation and helped me to appreciate the sacrifices she made for me and my siblings in order for us to be where we are today.
Tell us something most people don’t know about you.
Most people don’t know that I have type 1 diabetes. This is something that makes me stand out and I am very open about it.
What are your long-term goals?
My long-term goals are to grow my brand Lima-Le cosmetics into one of the top beauty brands. I want to be in stores such as Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom, and Target. This is a big goal of mine that I know I can achieve. I also want to get my Masters in Business Administration to expand my knowledge on how to run a successful brand.
What does EOP/MAP mean to you?
What EOP means to me is a family and support system that I have. I am able to relate to my peers in many different ways, whether it is living circumstances, the way we grew up, school, hobbies, family dynamics, and many more. It shows that I have a support system that I can rely on and depend on.
What’s your most invaluable experience at Purchase?
My most invaluable experience at Purchase was how I interacted with people. I went to Catholic school from kindergarten to 12th grade. Coming into Purchase I met many new people who were different, who had their own style, way of thinking, and knew who they were from a young age. College, was the first time that I was able to have my own style and way of thinking. Being around all these amazing and new people helped me to broaden my horizon and open up a new way of thinking. This school shaped me into the person I am today and that I will forever be grateful.
