Sara Duell

Lecturer of Graphic Design

Sara Duell is a Swedish designer in New York. She uses rehearsal as a method for making printed matter to stage and practice radical political imaginations.

Currently, she’s working on Exit Strategies: Rehearsing the Future Through Design, exploring the intersection of choreography and graphic design. Which she also wrote about in Times of Global Injustice: Temporalities of Power and Community Beyond Disciplinary Boundaries, forthcoming from Routledge 2026. She publishes the publication WMN-lesbian art and poetry, awarded the Queen’s Art Fund Grant (2021, 2023).

She earned her MFA in graphic design at Yale University School of Art, where she received the Phelps Berdan Memorial Award and the Fund for Lesbian and Gay Studies Research Award.
