Abby Ahmad is a singer, guitarist, songwriter, actor, and multi-disciplinary educator. She has recorded & toured internationally as a solo artist and with her band Fife & Drom. Her original music has been lauded critically and is featured in numerous films, including the major motion picture, The Guardian. Her work as a backing vocalist has been sought after by countless songwriters and artists both in live performance and in the studio setting. Abby has been a featured jingle singer for international and regional commercial ads (Maybelline, Sephora).

With edgy, intelligent lyrics and hypnotic melodies, Abby’s music is as passionate as it is profound. Bridging genres of folk-rock, blues, and alternative, her percussive guitar style, thought provoking lyrics, and arresting vocals both captivate and challenge her audiences. Emotionally-charged, yet playful, she is at once in your face and in your heart.

As an actor, Abby has performed on the NYC stage, regional theatre, and as a voice actor for film & commercial. She received critical praise for her performance in Heather Raffo’s one-woman play, 9 Parts of Desire. Abby was named “Actress of the Year” by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for her gripping portrayal of nine different Iraqi women as they traverse the horrors and revelations of war.

More recently, Abby has branched into independent filmmaking and her music videos have been an official selection of multiple international film festivals. She received a nomination for “Best Director of a Music Video” by the Independent Music Awards for her video, “Because”.

Abby is a voice, music, and songwriting coach who has been a trusted guide to students for over 15 years. Her vocal coaching and unique exercises have been utilized by artists in preparation for tours, festivals (Austin City Limits, Coachella, New Orleans Jazz Fest), Off-Broadway/regional theatre, and late-night TV (The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon). She cherishes the opportunity to commune deeply through creativity and connectivity.
