Mara Keen

Mara Keen is a composer, pianist, sound designer, and orchestrator. Her most notable work is Netflix’s Princess Power. In 2019, she earned a B.M. from George Mason University in Classical Composition. In 2022, she earned a M.M. from SUNY Purchase in Studio Composition where she was selected as a SUNY Thayer Fellowship Winner. Mara has assisted Emmy winning composer JP Rende, interned with New York Women in Film and Television, and is an active member of The Society of Composers and Lyricists, The Alliance for Women Film Composers, The Post New York Alliance, and Maestra. In 2023, Mara was selected for the 2023-2024 Maestra Mentorship Program, studying under Janna Graham (Mean Girls, 2024). Most recently, she finished sound design and sound mixing for Emmy winning producer Annetta Marion and writer Gabrielle Fox’s upcoming film, Welcome to Theatre, and was accepted into the Recording Academy’s GRAMMY U program.
