Purchase Retold

Playwright Note.

Hi everyone, thank you for coming to the show. This was a project that I created a year ago that was inspired by the Purchase Performance Lab production. This production represents the people who have come and left our Purchase College Community. These stories tap into the world of our community that lives within and is waiting to be connected to you. Through an array of interviews that were conducted, we picked the stories that display our student body. My goal was to create a project that can inspire or connect with people in our community that you may haven’t seen before. Thank you to my production team for creating this show with me and I hope you all learned something from it. I also would like to thank HW, CB, BS, and ES for their stories to be told through Purchase Retold.

Chris Walker (he/him) is the Production Stage Manager In this production of Purchase Retold. He is a senior Theater and Performance major here at SUNY Purchase. He has worked on other campus productions, such as, What If If Only (Stage Manager) and The First Annual Purchase College Halloween Cabaret (Stage Manager). He is also currently working on The Haunting of Campbell House (Stage Manager). It has been a pleasure working with this wonderful cast and crew. Hope you enjoy the show!

Alexis Taylor (She/Her) is a Senior graduating with a double major in Theatre and Performance and communications. She is so excited to present Purchase Retold to the community. Another production she was involved in at Purchase was in the Spring 2023 Mainstage Production of the Attic, directed by Michi Barall. She is thankful to the production team for helping to bring this show to light. She hopes you all enjoy the show.

Cayd Barrera (They/Them) is a fourth year BA theatre and performance student from Cape Cod, MA. They have worked in directing, production, performance, and design capacities for many shows on campus. They want to thank Alexis, Chris, the team, and the Shakespeare duck for all their hard work.
