Distinguished Professor of Biology
Lee Ehrman, an eminent American geneticist and educator, was honored with the Distinguished Professor rank in 1995 by the State University Board of Trustees and a Chancellor‘s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1976. She is a founding member of the faculty at Purchase College, where she has taught since 1970.

While at Columbia, she studied with and worked in the lab of Theodosius Dobzhansky, the pioneering geneticist and evolutionary biologist. In 1989, she was awarded an honorary Doctor of Science by the City University of New York .
