Jason Rodriguez ’12

Jason Rodriguez ’12 is a Dominican American actor/dancer born and raised in New York City’s Washington Heights. A performance artist whose work has been lauded in The New York Times, he is best known for the role of Lamar in the Emmy® and Golden Globe® nominated series Pose, where he was a movement coach and choreographer. He has also appeared as Enrico in HBO’s The Deuce.

Rodriguez is a movement instructor and consultant in ‘vogue,’ a highly stylized energetic dance that emerged from the Harlem underground LGBTQ+ ballrooms that mimics the poses of fashion models and is recognized for angular movements and acrobatic floor stunts.

He holds a BA in Arts Management and studied dance at Purchase College with Associate Professor Emeritus Kevin Wynn, as well as acting at The Susan Batson Studio in New York. A collaborator on campaigns for Lululemon, Vogue Eyewear, Adidas and Nike, he teaches vogue across the U.S. and internationally and offers classes at Broadway Dance Center and at Ailey Extension, a program of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York.
