Ira Lipson ’76

Ira Lipson ’76 Ira was a member of the first four-year Freshman class accepted to Purchase College. In addition, he earned an MSW degree from Fordham University.

During his over 35 year professional career, Ira variously served as an MSW Social Worker for the State of New York; as a non-profit development executive in an academic biomedical research and education setting for over 25 years; and as a lecturer in social work at Dominican University.

In his free time, Ira has been a volunteer teacher for the last 14 years for One to One Learning, a not-for-profit advocacy and educational organization for new immigrants. He was honored by that organization in 2021 as Board Member and Teacher of the Year. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Rockland Conservatory of Music, where he serves as Chair of the Board Development Committee.

He loves biking, music, playing softball, and attending classes at Purchase College.
