David Schwartz ’86
David Schwartz ’86 spent the majority of his career as chief curator at the Museum of the Moving Image in Queens before retiring in 2018.
What began as an internship in 1985 while he was a student at Purchase, turned into a 33-year career.
In that time, he supervised more than 10,000 film screenings and played a key role in numerous exhibitions and online projects. In 2006, he won a Film Heritage Award from the National Society of Film Critics for organizing the first complete Jacques Rivette retrospective in the United States. The New York Film Critics Circle honored him with a special award for career achievement in 2018.
