Hannah Garner ’15

Hannah Garner was awarded the Princess Grace Foundation Choreography Award in 2025.

Garner is a choreographer, performer, and director who works primarily in dance-theatre and contemporary dance.

She has worked with Doug Varone & Dancers, Sue Bernhard Danceworks, Megan Williams Dance, Kathleen Helm & Dancers, and Rovaco Dance Company.

She also presents her own work with her company, 2nd Best Dance Company, which “creates, performs, and teaches physically rigorous, sometimes virtuosic, almost always slapstick dance-plays.”

DANCE magazine named Garner “25 to Watch” for 2020.

Garner was also one of the guest choreographers for the Purchase Dance Company Spring 2018 Concert and has returned on other occasions to present her work in informal showings.

Garner graduated summa cum laude, earning a BFA in Performance/Composition and a minor in Arts Management.
