John Carney

Lecturer in History

Dr. John Christopher is an interdisciplinary scholar who has lectured and taught in New York and New England for the past twenty years. John received his Ph.D. and M.A. in Philosophy from the New School for Social Research. Dr. Carney received his B.A. from Brooklyn College after serving in the U.S. Navy.

Dr. Carney has authored numerous works and presented many papers on topics related to the history of ideas. Two of his book reviews (The Cynic Philosophers and The Imagination by Jean-Paul Sartre) were recently published in Philosophy in Review. John is the author of numerous works on the history of ideas. He is currently working on a book with his colleague, Dr. Patricia S. Misciagno (an alumna of Purchase College) entitled, Estranged: Alienation in 21Century America. Dr. Carney grew up in Brooklyn, New York and currently lives nearby in Greenwich, Ct.
