Librarians Are On-Call!

This summer, reference librarians are on-call Monday-Friday, 10am to 5pm from May 18 - August 23. To summon a librarian, just text us at (914) 873-1711 or stop by the Circulation Desk and ask for reference help. An on-call librarian will come assist you in-person.

During the summer months, librarians are very busy improving  the library’s collections, leading orientation workshops, attending conferences and professional development opportunities, revamping our webpages and research guides for accessibility, processing senior projects for the digital repository, and finishing up many other projects we can’t attend to during the academic year. We may not be sitting at the reference desk, but we are still here and ready to help you, both virtually and in-person, whenever you need us.

If you’re working in the library, trying to find a book, struggling with library technology and need in-person help, feel free to summon a reference librarian! The quickest method is to text (914) 873-1711 and state your question and location within the Library. The librarian on-duty will meet you within minutes.  You may also stop by the Circulation Desk and the circulation supervisor on duty can call a librarian to come meet you.

For virtual assistance, no matter where the summer takes you, you can use our Chat 24/7 service. It’s staffed all day long, seven days a week, with local Purchase College librarians answering chats between 10am and 5pm, Monday-Friday. (A nationwide cooperative of librarians answers questions outside these local service hours)

Finally, for non-urgent questions, you can email a librarian at ask@purchase.libanswers.com or contact your subject liaison librarian directly.

Have a wonderful summer and stay cool!
