Come One, Come All! Come Two From Purchase
Called “the fiercest event of the season,” Broadway’s CATS: The Jellicle Ball features Dava Huesca ’19 and Emma Sofia ’12.
Dava Huesca ’19 (Dance) is making her Broadway debut as Rumpleteazer, and Emma Sofia ’12 (Dance) is cast as Cassandra /Skimbleshanks, her third time on Broadway.
A revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s long-running hit, CATS: The Jellicle Ball, reimagines the show through the lens of NYC ballroom culture.
Huesca (left) reprises the role that earned her a Bessie Outstanding Performer award for the show’s off-Broadway premiere in 2024, when her performance in the production’s “Cat Walk” video went viral and helped its global visibility.
She’s a performing artist and choreographer working across concert dance and musical theater, who Dance magazine named “25 to Watch” in 2025.
Sofia made her Broadway debut as Wendy in the original cast of Finding Neverland in 2015 and then originated the role of Veruca Salt in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory two years later.
She then turned to television, most notably in FX’s Fosse/Verdon, and as Celia opposite Kyra Sedgwick in ABC’s Call Your Mother.
Currently in previews, CATS: The Jellicle Ball opens at the Broadhurst Theatre on April 7, 2026.
