Dava Huesca ’19

Dava Huesca is a freelance performing artist and choreographer working across concert dance and musical theater. She was named one of DANCE magazine’s “25 to Watch” in 2025 and is a Bessie- and Obie Award–winning performer.


Dava made her Broadway debut as Rumpleteazer in CATS: The Jellicle Ball, the reimagined revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical that opened in April 2026.

Huesca gained widespread recognition for her work in the hit Off-Broadway revival of Cats: The Jellicle Ball, where she starred as Rumpleteazer and later served as Assistant Dance Captain. Her performance became a defining face of the production’s internationally viral “Cat Walk,” helping propel the show into global visibility.

Her performance career spans theater and contemporary dance, with credits including Saturday Church, Ogedmi Ude & Company, Body Sonnet, Christoph Winkler Company (Germany), Yin Yue Dance Company, and VIM VIGOR, among others.

As a choreographer, Huesca has received commissions from The Corner web series, Whim W’Him, Dance Lab New York, and Yale University’s Summer Drama Cabaret. She has served as Associate Choreographer for Tanisha Scott’s Bob Marley: Hope Road workshop and held associate choreographer roles with collegiate institutions across the United States.

She was also the inaugural Springboard Danse Montréal nominee for the Jonah Bokaer Arts Foundation’s AIR Founder’s Residency and a resident artist with Gallim’s Moving Women program.

Deeply committed to dance education, Huesca has served on the faculty of our Conservatory of Dance, at Barnard College, Gibney Pro, Broadway Dance Center, and other institutions nationwide.
