PCAA Celebrates Black History Month

The Purchase College Alumni Association proudly celebrates Black History Month, a time to recognize the remarkable achievements, contributions, and lasting impact of our Black alumni.

A man stands on stage holding a sheet of paper and speaking into a microphone. He is wearing a maroon long-sleeve shirt, jeans, and a black Scott Mason ’05 and ’07 (Music) at the 2026 For the Culture Awards Show at The Stood (February 12) This year is especially meaningful as it marks 100 years of honoring Black history and the profound legacy, resilience, and excellence that continue to shape our nation and our communities. Our Black alumni exemplify creativity, leadership, scholarship, and service, inspiring others and embodying the spirit of excellence that defines our alumni network.

We are especially proud to highlight alumnus Scott Mason ’05 and ’07 (Music), who recently had the honor of presenting awards at the OAPIA (Organization for African Peoples In America) and SOCA (Students of Caribbean Ancestry) For the Culture Award Show on February 12. His participation reflects the continued influence and visibility of our graduates in professional and cultural spaces, and we commend him for representing our community with distinction.

Black History Month is both a celebration and a call to reflection. It reminds us to honor the trailblazers who paved the way, uplift the voices shaping the present, and invest in the future leaders emerging from our institution. We invite all alumni to join us in celebrating these accomplishments and sharing stories that spotlight the brilliance within our community.

Our best wishes,
Purchase College Alumni Association
