Wildlife Ecology Poster Session

Students in Professor Allyson Jackson’s Wildlife Ecology class answered questions about their research at this mini-symposium.

Dozens of students, faculty, and staff visited the lobby of the Natural Sciences building to learn more about the research projects conducted by teams of students in Wildlife Ecology with Allyson Jackson, Associate Professor of Environmental Studies.

Modeled after a scientific poster session at a conference, student researchers stood by their posters to help explain their research and answer any questions.

Projects included:

  • Wildlife use of the Blind Brook Forest and restoration area, exploring how wildlife uses our forest.
  • Bird foraging preferences of the spotted lanternfly, posing the question—do lanternflies taste bad, so birds avoid eating them?
  • Differences in photosynthesis between fall trees on campus, seeking to determine why some trees stay greener longer than others.
