Purchase Recognized as a Green College

Purchase College made the Princeton Review Guide to Green Colleges for another year.

The Princeton Review has been publishing its Guide to Green Colleges since 2010. It’s a useful tool for prospective college students that want to attend environmentally-conscious institutions.

The 2024 edition showcases 522 schools with locations in the United States, Canada, Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Mexico, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Egypt, Greece, Morocco, the Philippines, and Taiwan.

The Princeton review created their list using data from surveys that were distributed to administrators and students at 683 colleges and universities. From those surveys, PR analyzed over 25 data points to award each college points on a scale of 60 to 99. The survey asked questions pertaining to each school’s waste program, use of renewable energy, and the availability of an environmental studies program. Schools that scored over 80 points were added to the Guide. Purchase College scored 88 points.
