Aya Keefe ’07 Named Manhattan’s Deputy Borough President

She’s on the senior staff team for Manhattan’s Borough President Mark Levine.

Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine named Aya Keefe ’07 (economics) as Deputy Borough President. She’s part of the senior staff team who will perform the broad range of operations.

“I am tremendously proud to announce Aya Keefe as my next Deputy Borough President,” Levine said in a news release on Thursday. “I’m thrilled that Aya will lead the Borough President’s in crafting transformative policy, ensuring that land use is community-driven, and funding capital projects that make Manhattan more equitable, more dynamic, and greener.”

Most recently, Keefe had been Council Member Levine’s chief of staff, developing and implementing the office’s strategic priorities as well as overseeing daily operations.

Previously, she served as a senior analyst and a Presidential Fellow Manager at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, advising the Regional Administrator for New York and New Jersey.

She earned a Masters in Public Administration as a Dean Scholar from NYU’s Wagner School.
