Allyson Johnson ’81graduated with a BFA in music, but discovered a passion for film editing along the way.
Allyson Johnson ’81 is a film editor whose latest credit includes editing two episodes of Apple TV+’s seven episode, The Mosquito Coast. Johnson brought her lifelong love of music to Purchase to study clarinet. But while at Purchase, she took a few film courses and was hooked.
In particular, the work of director Claude Chabrol and the film Les Bonnes Femmes opened her eyes to the impactful role editing could have in film.
While she graduated with a BFA in Music, she pursued editing professionally.
