Join the Library Book Club!

The book club’s first meeting is in January 2020. Get a copy of the first book today!

The Library and the Office of Community Engagement are partnering to start a book club right here on campus! Our first meeting will be in Library 1014 on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 5:30PM.

Our first book club selection is A Heart in a Body in the World, by Deb Caletti, which you can check out at the library (in the popular collection on the first floor)!

A brief synopsis: When everything has been taken from you, what else is there to do but run? So that’s what Annabelle does—she runs from Seattle to Washington, DC, through mountain passes and suburban landscapes, from long lonely roads to college towns. She’s not ready to think about the why yet, just the how—muscles burning, heart pumping, feet pounding the earth. But no matter how hard she tries, she can’t outrun the tragedy from the past year, or the person—The Taker—that haunts her. Through welcome and unwelcome distractions, she just keeps running, to the destination that awaits her. There, she’ll finally face what lies behind her—the miles and love and loss…and what is to come.

Come to the meeting, even if you haven’t read the book - we welcome anyone who is interested in a book club on campus. The development of the club will be very student-driven, so come with your interest and ideas!

You can RSVP on the Book Club event page to receive email updates (but you don’t have to RSVP to attend the meeting - we welcome all)!
