MAP Senior, Albert Peguero’s Curatorial Exploration

Fine Arts Major and MAP Senior, Albert Peguero has been working hard on curating Purchase students and artists of Haitian and Dominican descent for Perico Ripiao. Peguero describes the show as “…centered around work made by us and for us. This is an opportunity for us to tell our stories and share our experiences both on our island and here as generations of immigrants. We are here, and we are PRESENT.” Work represented in the exhibition will be interdisciplinary including live performances.

Participating Artists: Josue Peguero, Kat Bencosme (EOP), Anthony Rojas, Yaritza Pineiro, Paris Souffrant (EOP), Michelle Tineo, Alondra Martinez (EOP), Skye Baptiste, Noel Batista (EOP), Ace Vidal, Hesed Cid (EOP), Alannah Sears ’19, Aleanna German (EOP), Radhames Caraballo, Cassandra Quintero, Nathaniel Rojas ’19 (EOP alum), and Chelsea Espaillat. 

Perico Ripiao will be up November 14th-16th at the Forum Arts Space in the Stood. Performances by Alfa deJesus, Darlyn Villalona, and Yvelyne Freycinet will occur November 16th at the closing reception at 7:30pm
