Jennifer Aleman ’12

Mindfulness in Non-Profit Leadership

Jennifer holds two Master’s degrees from Fordham University. Jennifer is a Licensed Social Worker and has another Master’s degree in nonprofit leadership. 

Last year, she was the keynote speaker at Adelphi University for their “Take Back the Night” event and was recently featured in an article in the New York Times. She is extremely passionate about empowering people to reach their full potential.

At the age of 29, she is the Founder & Executive Director of a nonprofit called Peace Starts Now. Peace Starts Now’s mission is to promote mindfulness through yoga, meditation and creative arts workshops. She currently works as the Executive Assistant to the President of The New York Academy of Medicine and was previously the Executive Assistant to the Founder and President of Girls Educational and Mentoring Services in NYC.  Prior to that, she was an Operations Specialist at the Corporate Source, a nonprofit that provides employment assistance for people with disabilities.
