Nobel Laureate Vernon Smith Visited Purchase
Nobel Laureate Vernon Smith visited Purchase on October 10 to give a lecture titled “On Proving Yourself Wrong: Learning from ‘Failed’ Experiments.”
Professor Smith explained how his experiments changed previously false beliefs held by economists. The talk was a great success and packed with attendees.
The lecture was followed by a lunch with students and faculty conversing with Smith and his wife, Candace Smith, on the subject of the lecture as well as on other questions about economics and the economic program at Purchase College.
