Alumni Win Big at Creative Arts Emmy Awards

Three Theatre Design/Technology alumni were honored at the Creative Arts Emmys in Los Angeles.

This year’s Creative Arts Emmys, which were held on September 8th and 9th in Los Angeles, honored outstanding artistic and technical achievements in a variety of television programs and series. 

Among the nominees and winners were some familiar faces to Purchase’s Theatre Design/Technology program.

Ben Green ’15 won for Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Variety Special for Jesus Christ Superstar in Concert. 

Melissa Shakun ’08 was the winner for Outstanding Production Design for a Variety Special, also for Jesus Christ Superstar in Concert.

Theatre Design/Technology professor David Grill ’86, who was nominated for Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Variety Special for the Super Bowl LII Halftime Show Starring Justin Timberlake.
