Dave Grill Lights Up Superbowl Halftime Show

Associate Professor of Theatre Design/Technology Dave Grill ’86 was the lighting director for this year’s SuperBowl Halftime Show.

Victoria Corbalis ’18 (design/tech) had the opportunity to accompany him as an intern. Funds for her trip were generously provided by Lucille Werlinich, longtime donor and chair of the Purchase College Foundation.

Corbalis said, “I can’t put into words how absolutely incredible this opportunity really was. It was definitely hard work,  however I loved being there and enjoyed every minute I was in the building working.”

“My biggest responsibility was within the “Laser Lounge” which was that first room you see Justin Timberlake appear in,” Corbalis said. “I was given the responsibility of drafting the room so that the electricians and riggers knew exactly what the plan was. I learned a lot of great lessons from everyone on the team and gained a lot of knowledge that I’m excited to continue applying to the rest of my career.”
