Fake news is on the rise, but you can fight back! Come to our event “Don’t Take the Clickbait: A Teach-In” on Friday, Feb. 24 at 12:30pm in Library Lab 1004D.
Purveyors of fake news and “alternative facts” are in the business of disempowering you. At this interactive, hands-on teach-in, Librarians and Journalism faculty will give you the skills to identify and combat fake news and take your power back. You’ll learn about tools for debunking fake news sites as well as concrete steps you can take to reduce the spread of false and misleading information. This teach-in is part of Purchase Days of Action and Dialog (#daad)
